You forget that it is now agreed by all the political parties (except Tebbit) that 6% of the adult population of the UK is gay/lesbian.That is around 2.4 million voters.The Conservative party is as much aware of that fact as is Labour or the LibDems.

Gendy, didn't say he was ugly, just that he looked like he'd not so much had a hard life, but just quite a long one.Also, I was taking the piss about the topsy-turvy world. I'm well aware of the changes in relation to diversity and equality (that the gay community has long cried out for) within the Conservative Party, now starting to take effect.No doubt though the usual storm will start to take effect about events of a generation ago, and how and why we should not move on or forget.Alan Duncan's rise within the Conservative Party does seem to bear evidence to the fact that there have been at least some changes.

On the contrary, Alan Duncan is a very good-looking man..I think this is wonderful news and Alan James make a handsome couple.Anyone who watched the Second Reading of the Civil Partnerships Act in the House of Commons in NOvember 2004 will remember the stunning advocacy of the Bill by Alan and his colleague Charles Hendry.They rendered the arguments of the Bill's opponents, mostly Tory Roman Catholics like Edward Leigh and Widdecombe, to be without foundation and thinly disguised prejudice reflecting the bigotry of the current Pope.All gay men and women in the UK owe a deep debt of gratitude to Alan Duncan.I wish him and James Dunseath every happiness in their life together.

Incidentally, homosexuality is illegal in Oman. Perhaps they might like to consider such things when making holiday choices – and political ones.
