Morocco is an Islamic country and Islam does not allow for separation of religion and State.There are doubtless many non religious laws in Morocco, but no law will be passed if it is in serious conflict with the teachings of Islam or Sharia law.And I'm afraid gay rights is one of those issues.Doesn't matter if you have semi-secular, moderatish, pro-westernish leaders who maybe do think gays should be more tolerated as it doesn't really affect the economic well being of the country. Pull the plug on funding and watch them jump into line.
