I believe "Big-ears" and his wife are on, or are soon to go on, a trip round the Carribean, taking in Jamaica.I doubt whether homophobia even appears on the agenda – HMG are very good at talking a good fight, and indeed doing things in the UK. However, in terms of asylum, and foreign policy, they are rather pusilanimous: even within the EU HMG seems quiet in the face of Polish homophobia, and they don't seem to want to interfere in the policies and practices of the "black" nations, probably for fear of being accused of neo-colonialism!However, Human Rights and freedoms are inaliable and indivisible: if that isn't accepted by even liberal secular governments, how can we expect the less enlightened to adhere to the ethos?!

Gareth, we would love to have you here. It is so unfortunate that you cannot live in your country with peace. But if you must fight abroad, I pray that the officials will let you come and work here in Canada.
