It is truly amazing that a poem alluding to Jesus Christ and same-sex atraction could be construed as blasphemous and still cannot be published in the UK. In a true democracy, I would have thought censorship had no place, please or offend.Though I revile homophobia and its proponents in all shapes and forms, I would never support censorship when it comes to freedom of speech and/or expression, no matter how offensive we may find it. I defend anyone's right to say whatever they wish.However, I am glad to see that the Church of England is open to the abolition of this ridiculous, anachronistic law as well as the disestablishment of state religion. No government should be in the business of financially supporting institutions with taxpayer money that promote discrimination in any way, shape or form.

Good for Dr. Harris. About time that archaic, anachronistic word was banned from the English language. Blasphemy…please……which century are we living in? Last time I checked, the right wing christian bigots and others like them have been uttering slurs, epithets, denigrating comments towards the Gay community ad infinitum and that was never considered "blasphemous". Why not replace it with the word "bigotry,?something that this group has a monopoly on? In a democracy, freedom of speech and expression is one thing, but hate speech quite another. There is a difference.
