Gay killer quizzed over second murder
A man jailed yesterday for killing an alleged gay lover is facing fresh questioning over the murder of an ex colonel.
Northampton Crown Court found Christopher Nudds, 27, guilty of shooting traveller Fred Moss, dismembering his body and burning it in the countryside. He was jailed for 30 years.
However, police are now speculating whether the killer also shot 83 year old Colonel Riley Workman after a gay affair. Col Workman was found dead at his cottage in Furneux Oelgamp, Herts in 2004. Nudds, who lived in a neighbouring village, was interviewed at the time.
A Hertfordshire Police source said: "We still think Nudds is the most likely suspect in the Riley Workman murder. We do not know what the motive is, but we can't rule out there was a sexual link between them. It may even stem back to when Nudds was a little boy."
