Britney Spears upcoming role on hit gay sitcom Will Grace is now being rumoured to be a lesbian part.

According to reports, the episode, airing in the US this April, will feature Ms Spears as an assistant to Jack, played by Sean Hayes. In Touch Magazine claims a Christian network buys 'Out TV' where Jack works, and she becomes his sidekick.

US channel NBC issued a press release earlier this month promoting Ms Spears' guest appearance on the show as a religious conservative TV personality who would host a cooking segment called "Cruci-fixins."

However, the network was forced to scrap that storyline after pressure from religious groups.

Critics suggest a lesbian storyline would fit the series better.
