Dominick, I'm with you on that. I just emailed my congressman to support Baldwin's amendment to ENDA. Its all or nothing, we've waited way too long for this amonng other important issues.

Tammy Baldwin is right on. KEEP the Trans community in the ENDA Legislation. BUSH has vowed to vetoe it anyway, so let him veto the whole thing! He's the scourage of liberty for all anyway.

The opinion that establishment parties or their courts will make homobigotry magically disappear or grant us first class citizenship if we just wait long enough is not validated by history. That viewpoint ignores the realities of politics. In the US centrist and rightist Democrats and Republicans cooperated in a bipartisan effort to deny us our rights. Now as GLBT folk watch in outrage, they’re gutting the employment antidiscrimination bill, ENDA. They’re eliminating rights for transsexuals entirely and pulling ENDA’s enforcement teeth regarding gays and lesbians even though they know that Bush will veto it. Frank and Pelosi aren't ‘worried about having enough Republican votes’ to pass ENDA; they’re pandering to Republicans and their fellow Democrats who want to weaken ENDA for all of us because they’re in bed with businesses that benefit from paying us less. Two of the shrewdest comments ever made about the 'bipartisan' twin parties of bigotry came from our own Gore Vidal and ‘Deepthroat’. Vidal said "We have no political parties. We've never had much of them — I mean the Democrats, the Republicans. We have one party — we have the party of essentially corporate America. It has two right wings, one called Democratic, one called Republican" (March 12th, 2003 on SBS Australia). Deepthroat’s counsel, given to reporters tracing corrupt practices by Nixon applies equally to all policy makers of the Republican and Democratic Party and is legendary for being simplicity itself: “Follow the Money.”
