I'm giving no vote to a democrat and obviously not to a republican. To me, they are more or less the same party, but willing to legislate us into second class citizenship. Its not good enough and never will be. Clinton has vowed to push for civil unions at the federal level, similar to the UK civil partnership laws while opposing marriage for same-sex couples. We should never accept it. If all of the LGBTQ community supported the Greens, it would have an enormous impact on both parties. Until that happens, we have to keep fighting them. Maybe we should push for tax exemption since we don't have our rights and we as gay citizens are paying a far higher share of tax than married couples, taxes that support their children and their schools and hundreds of other benefits that only straight married couples and their children enjoy while we get nothing. It disgusts me, it should disgust anybody who believes in democracy. Separate but "equal", what a joke, is not equal and is not democracy. Bill, you are absolutely right about that. The views of Republicans and Democrats are fast becoming interchangeable. They all say that samesex marriage is a states rights issue. ‘States Rights’ is the last refuge of racists, antiabortionists, and now homobigots. This will only be solved with a federal bill of rights for the GLBT communities. And we won’t get that from Democrats or Republicans.
