Controversial model Kate Moss is being lined up for a lesbian role in Brokeback Mountain director Ang Lee’s latest film.

The film is based on the life of singer Dusty Springfield, and Ms Moss is expected to play a socialite who became one of her early lovers.

Charlize Theron, 30, is rumoured to be playing Dusty Springfield.

The story will chart the singer’s life from her birth in Hampstead, north London, to her death from breast cancer in 1999. A source at ITV.com said: “Kate’s the ideal choice to play the love of Dusty’s early life. She’s beautiful, aloof and she epitomises swinging London.”

“There’ll probably be sexual scenes but as Ang is behind the camera they will be very tastefully done. Kate’s character breaks Dusty’s heart and sparks off the chain of tumultuous relationships that dogged her throughout her life.”

Meanwhile actress Neve Campbell is set to appear in a sequel of lesbian erotic thriller Wild Things with Denise Richards .

The movie will be called Backstabbers and is set to involve the highly likely scenario of a rich New York man who masterminds his wife’s kidnapping, blissfully unaware that her and his bodyguard are going to double-cross him.

Ms Campbell said: The first time – with Denise Richards in Wild Things – was nerve wracking. I was younger and it was made a big deal of, as it wasn’t such a common thing at the time. But now it seems like every female in the industry has done at least three of these scenes.”
