Fred Phelps is little more than a joke here in the US. Probably because he's too stupid to know the difference between Irish people and American cartoon leprechauns (the one on the left is my university's mascot — GO FIGHTING SODOMISTS!)I think he might be doing us a favor; many right-wingers are now trying to distance themselves from him and his level of crazy.

Bill, I have a better idea. Why not ship all right wing religious bigots from the U.S. and U.K. to Poland or Russia (the most homophobic western countries on the planet)? For the more extreme such as Phelps, Akinola of Nigeria and his clan, they might find it better in the middle eastern countries such as Iran, Saudi Arabia, even Iraq. Surely they'd have far more in common with their ideology. While we're at it, ship the right wing politicians along with them who thrive on fascism and theocracy.Robert, ex-pat.

If you all don't mind we'd like like to take up a colleciton and send Phelps to Belfast where he can stay at Paisleys house and they can compare notes on who's worse, gays or the Irish. And is it ok if we let the IRA know his flight number? Please, just this once.
