Boybands, boats and BBQ at Bournemouth Pride
The Bourne Free Pride Festival, held on 14th July, will see a welcome return of the popular beach front parade, as well as live shows and a brand new dance arena street party.
The Bournemouth event is now in its fourth year.
The day begins at 1pm with a nautical-themed parade travelling from the suburb of Alum Chine along the beach to the promenade.
From 2pm live acts will perform on the Bandstand, among them local favourite Miss Jason and top cabaret acts.
The Lower Gardens will host stalls providing information on organisations like Over the Rainbow and Gay Guide Bournemouth.
In the evening there will be celebrations in the Triangle, the town's gay village, from 7pm until the early hours of the morning.
Tina Cousins, Medusa, boy band Billiam will all perform and food and drink will be available at local venues and BBQ stalls.
For entry Bourne Free wristbands must be bought for £5 in advance or £8 on the gate.
The festival has the support of many local groups and businesses such as The Metropolitan Community Church, Bournemouth University and Fire 107.6FM.
"The Metropolitan Community Church have been serving the LGBT community since 1979 and we're proud to be involved in the Bourne Free Pride Festival again in 2007," said Reverend Dwayne Morgan of MCC Bournemouth.
The Mayor of Bournemouth Cllr Anne Filer will be visiting in the afternoon.
