Angels in America AIDS gala
Alan Cumming is to host a charity gala performance of Angels in America at the Lyric Hammersmith in aid of the National AIDS Trust.
The performance, which is to be held on 4th July, will raise money and awareness for the cause of HIV/AIDS prevention.
Tony award-winning actor Alan Cumming said: "Unfortunately HIV-related stigma and discrimination is still with us today, fifteen years after this play was written, and I am pleased to help increase public awareness of this issue by supporting this event."
Deborah Jack, chief executive of the National AIDS Trust said: "Alan Cumming's support for the charity gala performance of Angels in America is hugely appreciated by the National AIDS Trust.
"With Alan as host, guests are guaranteed a very entertaining evening, as well as knowing that they are raising funds to help people living with HIV."
Angels in America is set in New York in the mid-1980s, and follows characters dealing with AIDS, sexuality, religion and love.
It was made into an opera and an American television miniseries starring Al Pacino, Meryl Streep and Emma Thompson.
