MP's researcher sends rude email to anti-gay activist

If you like this then please subscribe to the A Nottingham MP has said one of his staff was wrong to send an abusive response to an email from a Christian activist.
Dries De Coster, a 19-year-old theology student, had group e-mailed every MP calling on them to oppose the Sexual Orientation Regulations.
The regulations, which outlaw discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation when accessing goods and services, passed the House of Commons on Monday and the House of Lords on Wednesday.
They will come into force on 30th April.
Paul May, a researcher for Nottingham MP Alan Simpson, responded to Mr De Coster's email.
"You disgust me," he wrote, according to thisisnottingham.co.uk
"You are so totally and utterly out of touch with the real world that it is no surprise to me the Christian faith is fizzling out to nothing in the UK."
Mr De Coster is a member of evangelical pressure group Christian Congress for Traditional Values.
Mr Simpson, the MP for Nottingham South, said that it was wrong for Mr May to be abusive in his response to the anti-gay email, which he said should have gone in the bin.
"Firstly, and most importantly, I don't pay my staff to waste time responding to round-robin e-mails," he told thisisnottingham.co.uk
"I have a very strict line on this. My constituents who write to me with issues will get a full reply from me on the issues that they raise.
"The second thing was that it was quite wrong for him to have a reply that was abusive and I have dealt with that as an internal office matter."
