Gaydio, Manchester's LGBT radio station, has closed its month-long broadcast by burying a time capsule in the city's gay village.

The station asked presenters, guests and members of the public what items they should place in the capsule to show future generations what LGBT life was like in 2007.

They included an AIDS awareness ribbon, several recordings from Gaydio's month-long broadcast, club fliers, magazine articles on the future development of the gay village, and photographs of significant LGBT events in Manchester.

Programme controller Tony Whitehouse told PinNews.co.uk that "throughout our broadcast, we tried to reflect the fact that it was LBGT history month and the idea of capturing LBGT life as it is today seemed the perfect way to close the station."

The station had its first two week broadcast last summer during Manchester Pride. It has now finished a month-long second broadcast and has plans to return in the summer.
