Equality has to be equal for all. After the initial reactions it will have little impact on "gay" venues. They will still be predominantly filled with gay guys and girls. However, if there was a way to stop annoying hen parties thinking a visit to a gay club is obligatory then we have a future to look forward to!

it does open another issue of gay bars and clubs, and keeping such establisments alive for gay men to enjoy. —so I, as a Lesbian who was born a man shouldn't have such bars as a place for me to enjoy?I've nothing against Hetros in Queer venues as long as they don't act like idiots.

I'm all for this change, that is be a punishable crime for services to refuse people on the grounds of sexual orientation. But it has raised something I've only now taken into account, that gay bars and clubs can not refuse someone on the grounds of them being straight, this is good because it has to work both ways, but it does open another issue of gay bars and clubs, and keeping such establisments alive for gay men to enjoy. I think though despite having to open doors to any group of orientation regardless, it will always remain that people who are indifferent for gay men/women will refuse to come to a gay bar and visa versa, its become engrained to much in society now its hard to just change the views of thousends of gay/straight men.

"7.12 Private Members’ clubs will be covered by the Regulations, but they will be allowed to have a particular sexual orientation as a membership criterion or a criterion for access to benefits by members – where the association is set up for the purpose of providing benefits to people of particular sexual orientation. So, a social club whose purpose is to provide support and social activities for gay men would be allowed to require that its members are gay. But a golf club whose purpose is to provide members with access to a golf course would not."Sounds perfectly reasonable. At last – a chance of equality rather than segregation.
