Little Britain star Matt Lucas today held a civil partnership ceremony with long term boyfriend, television producer Kevin McGee in London.

The gay wedding was a rather formal affair with guests including onscreen partner, David Walliams, tv presenter Dale Winton and comic Rob Brydon reportedly wearing suits.

The wedding reception and party is however expected to be rather extravagant with guests invited to appear as pantomime characters.

However, media organisations were last week written to by solicitors Mishcon de Reya (who also represent Sir Paul McCartney's estranged wife Heather Mills) informing them that photography and film footage from within the venue is prohibited. It asked companies including all British news broadcasters not to not broadcast video taken from inside.

The pair did however pose for photographers outside the ceremony venue. Prior to his wedding, Lucas said:"I'm nervous but very excited at the same time."
