The anti-gay Democrat who didn't make it
While the gay community hails the increase of Democrat candidates elected to the US Congress as the possibility of a more gay friendly USA, they will be relieved that one party candidate didn't make it.
Anti-gay Democrat Harold Ford Jr, who has spoken out against gay marriage failed to get elected in the mid-terms in the state of Tennessee.
Mr Ford, a Baptist, voiced his opposition to gay marriage after the New Jersey Supreme Court tentatively backed equal gay rights last month, he also pledged support for the Federal Marriage Act (FMA.)
But his hopes of winning the first Southern Senate seat were dashed by Republican Mr Corker.
However, the bad news is that Mr Corker's gay rights record is not much better, he also supports the FMA.
The state also banned gay marriage in its constitution after a referendum held yesterday.
