The LGBT community has again ensured the cancellation of a gig by murder music advocate Buju Banton.

Following reports earlier this week on PinkNews that pressure was growing to cancel Buju Banton's gig in Boulder Colorado, a Los Angeles nightclub has now led the way by scrapping a scheduled performance by the Jamaican reggae star.

Highland nightclub and restaurant received complaints from patrons and the local community, with Adam Manacker general manger of the club telling Santa Barbara News: 'We felt it was the right thing to do after doing some research on the matter".

In July this year Buju Banton concerts were cancelled in Brighton, Bournemouth and in Denmark due to pressure from LGBT communities.

Two of Banton's songs released early in his career in particular "Batty Rider" and "Boom Bye Bye " glorify homophobic hate crime Whilst his most recent album "Too Bad," continues to omit homophobic lyrics.

Banton was tried and acquitted on charges that he participated in the beating of six gay men by a Jamaican gang in 2004.
