Gay anthems become uncool classics
Two gay anthems have made a list of uncool records which are secretly okay to enjoy.
The top ten "guilty pleasures" include S Club 7's Don't Stop Movin and Gloria Gaynor's classic I Will Survive.
The collection was compiled by Q magazine which hopes to "restore a veritable treasure trove of music to glory."
S Club 7's Don't Stop Movin' reached number one in the UK charts and is often known to get crowds dancing and imitating Bradley's Michael Jackson style moves in gay clubs and bars across the country.
I Will Survive, which was originally a B side track, came top of the Billboard Hot 100 in 1979, it is still a hit amongst drag queens and in karaoke bars , summing up a sense of gay pride and defiance against people trying to get you down.
ELO's 1976 single Livin' Thing came top of the list, described as "gloriously bonkers."
A Guilty Pleasures CD has also been released featuring gay icons such as Barbra Streisand and Dolly Parton.
The top ten guilty pleasures were,
1 ELO - Livin' Thing
2 Boston - More Than A Feeling
3 S Club 7 - Don't Stop Movin'
4 10cc - I'm Not In Love
5 Gary Glitter - Rock'n'Roll Part 2
6 Foreigner - Cold As Ice
7 Billy Idol - Rebel Yell
8 Status Quo - Whatever You Want
