NAT to Walk for Life
The National AIDS Trust's finance director is to embark on Crusaid's Walk for Life at the end of this month, wearing a 9ft red ribbon.
The event is Europe's biggest HIV fundraising walk, wearing a 9 ft red ribbon, and Tim Gutteridge will represent the Trust by wearing its symbol on the 10km walk through Central London.
The costume, hand created by Tim, consists of a dress decorated with 1000 red ribbons. It also features a 9 ft vertical ribbon with the banner, National AIDS Trust - Walking for Life.
Crusaid's Walk for Life, aims to raise money for people living with and affected by HIV and AIDS. Last year, over 3000 people took part in the Walk for Life and raised £395,000 for HIV.
Mr Gutteridge said: "The red ribbon is a symbol of support for people living with HIV. By doing the Walk for Life in the red ribbon dress, I hope to raise much needed funds for the National AIDS Trust, and act as a human banner to increase the visibility of HIV."
Sponsorship money raised will be split between HIV charities Crusaid and the National AIDS Trust.
