Spanish military hosts first gay wedding
A male couple in the Spanish air force have become the country's first gay military recruits to marry.
The men, who live in Seville, and are both named Alberto, said they are not worried about what others may think.
One of the men told the Cadena Ser radio station, "We know we are in the armed forces and this is touchy because we are not gardeners but rather soldiers. I know there are superior officers who will make life difficult for me, and they are already doing so.
Around 4,500 same-sex couples in Spain are thought to have taken advantage of the legislation.
Spain was the third country to allow gay marriages just a week before Canada introduced the legislation, which had already been implemented in the Netherlands and Belgium.
The wedding is scheduled for this September.
