A weekend full of gay pride
Last weekend was an important couple of days for gay pride with parades taking place in major cities such as Paris, Lisbon, San Francisco and New York.
Over 700,000 people took part in the annual gay pride march across Paris calling for greater equality, gay marriage and adoption rights, which was echoed by a smaller 400 strong parade in Lisbon.
The New York march concentrated on the 25th anniversary of the AIDs epidemic.
Around 5,000 people celebrated Pride in Dublin, Ireland, while over a thousand marched in Budapest, Hungary, and Athens in Greece while 200 gay campaigners gathered in Zagreb, Croatia.
The events passed relatively calmly compared to recent gay pride gatherings in Moscow, Bucharest and Warsaw.
London will celebrate EuroPride with a parade this Saturday.
