Sao Paolo hosts tenth Gay Pride
Around two million members from Brazil's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community gathered in Sao Paulo last weekend for the 10th annual Sao Paulo Gay Pride.
Participants waved rainbow flags, and wore carnival costumes as well as the colours yellow and blue to support the Brazilian World Cup team.
The event celebrated gay pride and called for an end to homophobia.
Police did not release official figures but TV station Globo TV estimated there were 2,5 million revellers.
Homosexuality has been legal in Brazil since 1823, except in the armed forces, and civil unions are allowed in some areas.
