Gay Big Brother 7 housemate Shahbaz Chaudhdry was beaten up by his father and disowned by his family because of his sexuality, sources have revealed.

Friends revealed that the Muslim reality show contestant was attacked with a hammer in an "honour beating" by his father, Muzammil, after wearing high heels to school.

A former school friend told how Shahbaz, 37, was shafted by his family and his dad was prosecuted for assault for the attack outside the Glasgow school.

His friend told the Daily Mirror, "After that, as far as I know, Shahbaz never went back home."

Meanwhile tension is mounting in the house over the Big Brotherhood task which has seen only Shahbaz and Lisa receive their luggage, along with a limited amount of contestants picked by them.

So far Pete has been welcomed into the group and therefore given his clothes.
