Bishops attack homophobic Polish station
A group of Polish bishops have set up a council to check on homophobic and anti- Semitic broadcasts from a religious radio station in the country.
Radio Maryja has created controversy for mixing religious broadcasting with anti Jewish and anti gay commentary as well as its open support for the ruling Law and Justice Party.
The Polish episcopate issued a statement claiming the station would be "open to pointers from the episcopate" and would not be "connected with any political faction".
Meanwhile, the statement thanks the broadcaster for "huge evangelising work".
One regular contributor on Radio Maryja is Fr Rydzyk, he once said the EU was plotting to enforce gay marriage on Poland, he called the station a "voice of truth" "from the liberal and leftist media in Europe and the world".
