In all seriousness, having gay storylines and characters in popular soaps can't be a bad thing as long as we are shown in a realistic light and stop continuing to show everyone as the stereotype mincing fairies.

Having exposure in shows with such popularity as Coronation Street and Eastenders can help get LGBT awareness across to the ignorant masses out there. And let's face it, any cretin that watches soaps needs all the education they can get.

OOAh! duck look at that woman over there dressed-up to the nines! there Vera there….Don't look now luv, I think it's a bloke dressed up to look like a woman! OOAH! Vera, will yer look at that?
