Simon, you are too pessimistic by half. Have you not heard the old adage 'The Lion Will Lay Down With The Lamb?' The Palisinions will one day have their own state as Isreal has. After all, the Palistinions were there first and dwelt on the shores of Isreal 4,000 years ago. They were known as Philistines then. Palistinian is derived from the Philistine name. It may not happen in yours or my lifetime Simon. I claim that I will see it, dead or alive?

But the war over Jerusalem continues and will never be resolved.

Flattening the city is very radical for sure but it is the 1 surefire way to prevent hundreds of years of further war.

Your methods sound a bit radical. Religion in all it's forms are here to stay. It boils down to a compromise from both or more parties, or constant stalemate and stagnation ensues. The Jews have been looking for their Jerusalem since their exodus from Ejipt, 4,000 years or so ago, and, it may sound silly, but they are still looking. 1948 was the one time it was recorded, their arrival off the coast of Isreal and demanded entry from the British Colonists. The Jews had wired the ship they were traveling on to their destination with high explosive. They said if they were refused landing rights, they would blow-up the ship and everyone on it–Men, woman, children. All had survived the holocaust in Europe. Well, they landed and formed the Isrealy State. The indigenous Arabs took up arms against Isreal. Isreal had more to loose than the Arabs so after a bloody-war, Isreal won and so stayed. The rest is a matter of record and will go on and on……!

Jerusalem will NEVER be a pluralist city while the cancer of religion exists there.

Personally I think it would be a good thing if the city was 1st evacuated of its entire population; then razed to the ground and finally replaced with the world's biggest multi-storey car park.

Considering how many thousands of people who have been killed there in the name of 3 absurd religions over the millenia that would definitely be progress
