There seems to be a problem here. On the one hand there seems to be the desire not to be stereotypically gay – but instead to look like regular, normal guys, like the rest of the 98- 99% heterosexual population, but then there is the desire to be recognised as a distinct entity, in the same way that one would recognise a black man at a hundred paces. So how do gays you come out? How are they to be noticed without anyone noticing? How, apart from telling us, are we to know, without our knowing that we know, we know that we know, that someone is gay ?

For a man to walk about hand in hand with another man is going to be noticed, certainly in Frinton on Sea, unless you can persuade all the men in Frinton to walk about hand in hand.- only then would we not know who was bent and who was straight. As for being accepted, rather being tolerated, as Goths and punks apparently are, Goths and punks do not identify themselves biologically as a distinct species. They did not wake up one morning and discover that they are Goths – or punks. Neither do they make special claims or try to differentiate themselves from the rest of society by having Goth only Olympic games, goth- only restaurants, clubs, hotels, Goth Sunday at London Zoo, London Goth Parade, Goth history month, Goth MPs. Nor do they, when accused of breaking the law, automatically appeal for special dispensation: “ that’s Gothphobic hatred.”

And what is the opinion of the infallible Pope Ratzinger on these female priests? Does he welcome them?

This discussion is about the UK – catholic schools receive some state funding despite having an obviously discriminatory policy towards the rights of their staff and members. That is no different to the BNP policy. Neither policy is acceptable of course but it's not acceptable to penalise the BNP and not penalise the catholic cult for their discriminatory policies.

@Simon – There are female priests in the Roman Catholic church particularly in Brazil where men are in very shoert supply for the priesthood. With regard to the BNP inviting gays to join them. Nazis are Nazis they kill and murder gays and anyone else they feel like killing in the name of their digusting policies. Those that mix with swill will be eaten by the pigs. Remember, you are judged by the company you keep. These foul apologies for human beings are sickening to the stomach.

If I decide I want to join an extremist Islamic Group (like The Muslim Council Of Britain for example), but refuse to convert to Islam and refuse to cover up like some subservient dickhead slave-woman…..can I bring about an injunction on them on the grounds of religious and sex discrimination????

Mixed feelings on this one.

While on the 1 hand I think the BNP's membership rules are vile and racist I am also aware that the muslim and catholic cults receive state funding for schools etc that they run. If the BNP can be called to court for their membership policy then I think equally the catholic cult snould be hauled to court for not allowing female priests (ie their membership policy) when the cult receives state funding.

Why is there a double standard?
