Having studies the subject as part of my university degree and presented a paper to a government task force on the subject, the overwhelming reason for young homosexuals committing suicide is the rejection they suffer from other homosexuals.

A guy can go to an event and unless they are handsome and outgoing with a good body, they suffer multiple rejections from other guys that they wish they could have sex with. This can happen 10, 20 or 30 times in a night.

Coupled with that is their seach for their white night usually ends up in dissapointment. They find someone who is perfect in their eyes, start a relationship and their white knight finds another guy a week later who he likes better. Long term monogmous relationships are almost unknown in the homosexual community as the average length is 18 months.

I know of one young homosexual who has had at least 10 "white knights" and everyone of them have been a failure.

They need defending against sexual predators, which includes homosexuals as in NAMBLA, those who sell them for prostitution and those who abandon them and if you haven't seen the evidence splashed across the papers in most western countries you are well and truly in the dark ages.

Thanks for sharing your pain. Something similar happened to me. I lived a wonderful gay life in Montreal, Canada, for years, then I had to come back home to a small town in northern New Brunswick because of family problems. Now, I'm happy to be here because I've found the man of my dreams.

Read the truth and open your eyes:- The reason there is more depression and suicide among gay teens, and gay men in general, is because of people like you. Not every gay man is strong enough to deal with the prejudices that your kind throw at us, and hence go "ex"-gay like you did. But thankfully most others are strong enough.

Chldren should know that some families are different. Whether you choose to tell children or not about the fact that some people are gay, they will already know, at a young age, what being gay is all about. They know to intimidate, and harrass, and bully, and assault those who are, or are perceived to be gay. (Murderous thugs like gavin alker for instance)

Another point, I don't take much interest in 'research' unless it's appeared in a quality, peer-reviewed scientific journal. Something that appears on a website run by religious nutcases, like OneNewsNow, for instance, does not count.

People are likely to be more suicidal if they are bullied and harrassed, whether they are straight or gay. And the statistics show gay people are singled out for this in the most appalling way. That is a much more plausuble explanation for the higher rates of suicide amongst LGBT youth.

That's why it's essential to encourage to treat gay people with respect, to root our bigotry and prejudice. This has nothing whatseover to do with telling kids to label themselves as soon as possible.
