Senator gets death threats over gay marriage support
Police are investigating claims that a Senator has been receiving death threats over his support for gay marriage.
Minnesota state Senator Satveer Chaudhary revealed he has been sent a picture of himself with a bullet hole drawn on it, attached to a newspaper advert supporting a law to ban gay marriage.
Mr Chaudhary said: "One anonymous coward does not change my mission as a legislator.
"It is my hope that Minnesotans will reject these blatant attempts to drive a wedge between the people of our state and not sink to their level of discourse."
He is working with police to find out where the letter came from. The newspaper advert was from the Minnesota Citizens in Defence of Marriage, they have condemned the letter.
