What a pleasure it is reading you on PinkNews. I am living in Atlantic Canada, and I was in Montreal the day after Judy Garland died in NYC in June '69.

I don't know how many times I have reminded my friends and acquantainces of the fact that Transsexuals spearheaded the Stonewall Riots.

There was no Harvey Milk around at the time. Standing up to the NYC police department and rocking the boat the way you did is written in Gay Studies on all gay websites and universities which talk about Stonewall.

I have a DVD with a lot of the original footage, and wow, it sure took a lot of balls to go all the way with beginning the Gay Liberation in America.

I am not Trans, but you can be assured of my support in any future comments you care to make in PinkNews.

In fact, commentators on PinkNews are presently being harrassed by a couple of religious crackpots on the thread concerning faith schools in England.

You will recognize it by the photo of an upside down Yellow triangle with silouettes of two children crossing the street, and you can find the heading of it (…faith schools…) in the April '09 archives in the lower right hand column of the front page

The issue has to do with faith schools being forced by whats-his-name to teach innocent children that LGBT persons are an abomination in the eyes of gawd, and we are arguing that it is child abuse to teach homophobia to children, not only because homophobia has been scientifically proven to be a mental illness, but also because it is not justice to expect the entire British population to subsidize these endoctrnation camps with their taxes.

I have appealed to the Trans population for assistance (well, I did it twice) because I know very well how much you can teach us about the courage to be who we are and to stand up to homophobia.

This is the third time I check this thread and I must admit that I was disappointed to find it empty the first two times.

I am 64, and I've been in a successful and very happy same-sex relationship for 19 years.

Please don't feel obliged to tackle this issue; I'm sure you already have a thousand things on your mind. I'll be checking this thread in the event that you want to communicate with me.
