Analysts predict former New York mayor "gay rights" backtrack
Former New York City mayor, Rudolph Giuliani may renege on his support for gay rights, according to political analysts.
Mr Giuliani has previously told interviewers that he is "pro gay rights," but now as he attempts to stand as the Republican presidential nomination in 2008, he appears to be backtracking on that promise.
Critics highlight his appearance at a rally for anti gay senator Rick Santorum, who believes homosexuality should be controlled "the same as they regulate human sexual contact with animals."
He described Mr Santorum, who is running for the Senate in Pennsylvania, as a man who "really has a comprehensive understanding of the dangers that are facing us.
"He understands the importance of police, the importance of law and order."
