Man charged with murder over ‘homophobic’ Bromley killing

A man has been charged with stabbing to death a gay man and trying to kill his partner in Bromley, south London.

David Kilcullen, 46, of The Avenue, Bickley, has been charged with murder and attempted murder and is due to appear at Greenwich Magistrates’ Court today.

A 59-year-old man has been bailed until early April pending further inquiries.

Gerry Edwards, 59, was pronounced dead at the scene from stab wounds at the flat in Page Heath Villas, off Bickley Road, last Tuesday night.

His partner, 56-year-old Chris Bevan, was taken to hospital with stab wounds and remains in a critical condition.
