My partner and I are among the 18,000 who wed in California. I am on pins and needles awaiting this judgement. It is so unfair that heteros can marry over and over again on a whim and I who have been with my partner for 8 years have to go through all this BS to have our relationship recognized. And still only half recognized because of DOMA. I am so heartsick over all of this. Why can't we just live our own lives?

The majority of Californians voted to withdraw a right. A nation ought never to withdraw a right from any of it's citizens. It is a very dangerous path to follow.

In the same category, their action was comparable to the removal of rights for the Jews under Nazi Germany.

I hope they overturn Prop 8.

But if they uphold it and declare the 18000 gay marriages illegal I hope there are major protests and riots. A strong message needs to be sent to the bigots that they are not allowed to impose their views on people who don't agree with them.
