I totally agree with both of you – the Pink News article here is taken from a longer article in Travel Weekly (http://cde.cerosmedia.com/1M499d370495321387.cde – see page 7 and 22).

My point is that there is no excuse for creating a "gay travel programme" as an excuse to increase prices. Some people do still want to use the services of a gay travel operator; they feel reassured by the level of resort knowledge etc (in the same way one might prefer a ski specialist operator). But we are far too savvy nowadays not to see when that specialist knowledge comes at a price, and vote with our feet.

Good point Simon- So long as I'm not subjected to homophobic abuse or discrimination on holiday I don't mind who takes me there. The Pink Pound is no different to any other, unless you want an exclusively gay resort.
And Oliver… If you want to advertise your dating site, pay for an advert like everyone else.

Whenever I hear of a gay travel firm offering holidays designed for gay travellers I get suspicious. In many many cases it is an utter ripoff. They seem to think that because they are a gay specific company they can immediately add 25% to the price. Three years ago I went to Mykonos with some friends for a holiday. We compared the prices for a gay company and a standard company. The gay company was 25% more expensive. We didn't choose them. Gay people need to realise that regardless of who you travel with you should be treated fairly and with respect. The prices many gay operators charge are unfair and disrespectful.

I am sick and tired of the homosexual community shouting about homophobia when they are practising christianphopia and wanting more and more "rights". Britain is being ruled by minority groups.
