It is illegal to demand that women or black people should receive less rights in the constitution. Why is it acceptable that the heterosexual majority can decide on what rights gay people should have. It is worryingly close to facist extremism. I sincerely hope that Prop 8 is overturned. If it is not then the authorities will have no-one but the general electorate to blame in case of violent protest of the insertion of facism into to California constitution.
