Celebrity support for gay charity night
Stonewall's eighth Equality Dinner, its highest profile annual fundraising event, raised over £216,000 at the Dorchester Hotel last week.
Sponsored by UBS, it was one of their most successful annual dinners and the money raised will help Stonewall's ongoing campaigns, such as Education for All which tackles homophobia and homophobic bullying in schools.
The dinner was hosted by Amy Lamé, with a keynote speech from Chris Smith, the first openly gay cabinet minister.
MPs and peers from all political parties attended, along with other well-known faces including film and stage star Sir Ian McKellen, Dame Beryl Bainbridge, Maggi Hambling, Kenny Goss and Geri Halliwell.
Ben Summerskill, Stonewall chief executive, said: "We're hugely grateful to everyone who supported the equality dinner. Stonewall is dependent on the generosity of its supporters for the success of our campaigns.
"The money raised will be used to help end all forms of homophobia in our schools and help the thousands of young people who are victims of bullying in school simply for being gay"'
