George smokes joint in front of Melvyn
12:00 AM — George Michael has broken yet another taboo by openly smoking cannabis in front of a Labour peer.In the course of an interview for The South Bank Show, the former Wham! front man and gay icon puffed on a joint.Michael was speaking to Melvyn Bragg, the veteran arts presenter, who was made a life peer by Tony Blair in 1998.
Grey’s Anatomy star comes out
12:00 AM — Hit US medical drama Grey's Anatomy, has been a cult hit with gay and lesbian viewers since its debut on Channel 5 earlier this year.Now TR Knight, who plays surgical intern Dr George O'Malley in the show, has released a statement to People magazine revealing that he is gay.

12:00 AM — Gay fans in Europe are joining an international campaign to kick discrimination out of football starting today.LGBT supporters in Germany and Poland are participating in the Football Against Racism in Europe Action Week, which will see a series of events throughout the continent dedicated to promoting equality including anti-homophobia schemes.
Brokeback director joins Olympics team
12:00 AM — Gay cowboy movie director Ang Lee has been named as a consultant for the Beijing 2008 Olympics.The Brokeback Mountain Oscar winner was named this week along with honorary president of the Chinese Olympic Committee and International Olympic Committee member He Zhenliang, and composer Wu Zuqiang, to be culture and art consultants for the creation of the opening and closing ceremonies of the event.

Zurich to host EuroPride 2009 6
12:00 AM — Zurich has been chosen as the host of EuroPride 2009.The Swiss city was chosen after a meeting of the European Pride Organisers Association in Madrid, the city of next year's hosts.Delegates discussed bids from Tel Aviv in Israel, and Mannheim in Germany, but chose Switzerland after the country recently approved civil partnership laws in a national referendum.

"(Keira) is older than me, but she kind of has a mysterious relationship with my lover," Lohan told MTV News. "And there's somewhat of a lesbian undertone."

12:00 AM — A prominent San Francisco radio host and television news anchor is under fire this week from city officials and LGBT community leaders or comments he made on the air about non-traditional families.According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Pete Wilson, the anchor of ABC's local evening news and host of a radio show on KGO 810 AM, criticised Supervisor Bevan Dufty and his friend Rebecca Goldfader, who are sharing a home and co-parenting a newborn, during a radio broadcast.
Students outrage over ‘curing’ course 4
12:00 AM — Students nationwide have expressed their outrage after a Christian course aiming to 'cure' homosexuality piloted at Edinburgh University.Students at the university began protesting the PURE course after it was discovered to recommend homophobic literature, such as What Some of You Were by Christopher Keane, which details the stories of "ex-gays" who have been "cured" of their homosexuality by the power of Christianity, and how "gay relationships are characterized more by promiscuity than by fidelity."
