    12:00 AM — Yet another one of those films where you can just imagine the studio execs hammering out the pitch, which can't have been anything other than, "Ghost, but with the genders reversed - and it's a comedy!"Yep, whereas 1990's Ghost featured the living Demi Moore doing the whole love thing with the ghost of Patrick Swayze, helped out by a female medium, here we get the living Mark Ruffalo falling in love with the ghost of Reece Witherspoon, helped out by a male psychiatrist. And on top of that, they've chucked in the When Harry Met Sally idea (in itself pinched from Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing) that on first meeting, they hate each other

    12:00 AM — Pop star, Robbie Williams has accepted substantial libel damages from the publishers of the People Newspaper and the publishers of the Daily Star over claims that he is secretly gay.The claims that we made in the People newspaper, Star and Hot Stars Magazine in 2004 claimed that the former Take That star had engaged in casual gay sex.Mr William's barrister, Tom Shields QC, told the court that the singer "is not, and has never been, homosexual."

Front man, George Michael has made public his plans to marry long term partner Kenny Goss when gay weddings become legal in Britain.The popstar who has been in a ten year relationship with Mr Goss said that they plan to register their partnership shortly after the Civil Partnership Act comes into force in England and Wales with a ceremony due in the early part of 2006.

    12:00 AM — Sir Elton John's gay wedding to his partner David Furnish will be a private affair after he turned sown an offer worth over £6m to broadcast the occasion.The popstar and his entertainment producer partner will be one of the first couples in Britain to take advantage of the Civil Partnership Act, which will allow 'gay marriages' in all but name from the 21st December.

    Gay Wedding expo hits London 1

    The event will be held at the Business Design Centre in Islington

    12:00 AM — Britain's first gay wedding exhibition is to take place in North London this weekend.The Modern Life show is billed as a one-stop shop to assist couples embarking on a civil partnership. Taking place at the Islington Design Centre it will feature exhibitors including Moss Bros, Debenhams, wedding venues, financial advisors, photographers and cake makers.The exhibition has been publicised across the gay media and through more traditional outlets including posters at tube stations. Tickets cost £10 (including a £1 donation to the Elton John Foundation).

    12:00 AM — Gay Games officials have announced that Cologne, Germany will play host for the 2010 Gay Games VIII. The city beat bids from Johannesberg and Paris.The Gay Games has become a sought-after international event by cities worldwide. The 2006 Gay Games VII in Chicago is expected to bring more than 100,000 people and millions of dollars in tourist revenue to the city. "As one of Europe's most welcoming and diverse cities, Cologne welcomes the international LGBT community, their friends and families, with open arms," the Cologne bid committee said following the announcement.

    12:00 AM — George Takei, better known as Mr. Sulu from the hit TV series (and subsequent six movies) Star Trek, has made it official in a new interview with Los Angeles based Frontiers magazine."Brad's my partner, we've been together for 18 years," Takei tells Frontiers. "I've been 'open,' but I have not talked to the press."The 68-year-old actor was born in Los Angeles but spent much of his childhood in Japanese internment camps in Arkansas and Northern California.

    12:00 AM — Simon Hobart, the legendry founder of the London's alternative gay scene died in the early hours of Sunday morning. Much of London's gay community was in shock as the news spread over the course of the week.Simon who founded Popstarz, Ghetto and Trash Palace is credited for the having initiated the gay indie scene in London and far beyond. Police have confirmed that the body of a man matching Mr Hobart's description was found on Sunday morning outside his home. They are not treating the death as suspicious.
