Simon Hobart died from drink- inquest told
Club promoter Simon Hobart died after an evening of heavy drinking, a South London inquest was told.Mr Hobart, who founded Popstarz, Ghetto and Trash Palace is credited for having initiated the gay indie scene in London and far beyond.

In a surprising move, the Hebrew version of the stage musical, The Producers has taken Israel by storm with a gay Hitler.The Mel Brooks musical centres on the efforts of a theatrical producer's attempts to stage a sure-fire flop, Springtime for Hitler.The Israeli version of the show has be translated into Hebrew complete with Nazi salutes.

Gay walks launched in Edinburgh
A leaflet charting lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender historic walks in Edinburgh has been launched.The pamphlets, which form part of gay history awareness project, Remember When, highlight routes of seven walks spanning 500 years through different parts of the capital.They include stories of persecution, as well as modern stories of liberation, such as the landmark of Scotland's first Gay Pride march.

Bond director charged in gay prostitution crackdown
The James Bond director accused of offering sex to an undercover policeman has been sentenced to 15 days community service.Lee Tamahori, 55, who directed Die Another Day, was arrested for allegedly offering oral sex whilst dressing as a woman, according to officials in America.

Morrissey angry over government investigation
British pop singer Morrissey is fuming after being quizzed by FBI and British intelligence for speaking out against the American and British governments.The former front man of influential pop group The Smiths, who is now a solo artist, is a well known critic of the war in Iraq and has previously dubbed President George W Bush a "terrorist." He was baffled when he was taken in by authorities.

Club ridiculed over Brokeback Mountain calendar
A football club is being ridiculed by opposing fans over a calendar which features its players dressed like gay cowboys from hit film Brokeback MountainLeague One side Huddersfield Town were forced to reduce the price of the item from 5.99 to 1 this week after discovering that supporters were too embarrassed to buy it.However sales have increased in the last few days as fans do their best to stop other supporters buying them.

Turin gay pride looks to takeover city
Whilst the 2006 Winter Olympics plough on in Turin, a gay pride event is looking to also take the city by storm.The Italian city is currently hosting a series of events under the umbrella of Turin Pride 2006 which will culminate in a national lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender event in June.A gay sports competition is set to start next month and several lectures and musical programmes are scheduled.

Boy George ridicules gay marriage
Former Culture Club front man Boy George has slammed same-sex 'weddings', insisting marriage is outdated and has no place in modern or gay culture.The singer, who wrote hit song Karma Chameleon, ridiculed Elton John and David Furnish's decision to have a civil ceremony on December 21 last year - the first day British laws permitted the unions.
