Gay campaigners celebrate The L Word
12:00 AM — The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and Showtime Networks Inc. are teaming up to host more than three dozen nationwide premiere events for the fourth season of lesbian drama The L Word.Gay campaigners at the HRC and Showtime Networks have partnered together for all four seasons of the show by hosting events with complimentary admission in cities across the country.

Elton John and George Michael mend rift
12:00 AM — Gay music legends Sir Elton John and George Michael appear to have ended their rift.Sir Elton fumed at Michael earlier this year after the former WHAM" front man blamed the Rocket Man for his problems with drugs.Michael told the Parkinson show, "Unfortunately every artist nowadays has a soap opera and it's decided where they're going to be in that, the trajectory of my particular soap opera launched from that statement Elton made about 18 months ago when he hadn't seen me for years.

12:00 AM — Sir Elton John was joined by X-Factor judge Sharon Osbourne, Sting, Girls Aloud and ex-Ginger Spice Geri Halliwell to launch his new film in Leicester Square last night.The gay musical legend unveiled his new film, transgender comedy It's a Boy Girl Thing, at a premiere to raise funds for the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
Lesbian drama inspires online networking
12:00 AM — Showtime Networks and Ilene Chaiken, the creator and executive producer of hit lesbian drama The L Word, have formed a joint venture to launch a social networking site for lesbians inspired by the show.The site, OurChart.com, will feature content from the series and will launch next month along with Season 4 of The L Word.

Clarkson reprimanded for ‘gay car’ comment 27
12:00 AM — The BBC has pleased gay campaigners after upholding a complaint that Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson was behaving in a derogatory manner after referring to a car as "gay" on the programme.Four viewers complained about an exchange during BBC Two's Top Gear last July in which Clarkson picked up a remark from an audience that a certain car was "gay", the presenter then backed it up by saying, "a bit gay, yes very ginger beer" which is cockney rhyming slang for queer.

12:00 AM — Gay campaigners are calling on the community to support a campaign to stop the closure of the Theatre Museum in London.The Theatre Museum claims to hold the largest collections of documents and artefacts relating to the performing arts, but now faces closure and relocation by its owner The Victoria and Albert Museum.

Little Britain star holds gay wedding
12:00 AM — Little Britain star Matt Lucas today held a civil partnership ceremony with long term boyfriend, television producer Kevin McGee in London.The gay wedding was a rather formal affair with guests including onscreen partner, David Walliams, tv presenter Dale Winton and comic Rob Brydon reportedly wearing suits.The wedding reception and party is however expected to be rather extravagant with guests invited to appear as pantomime characters.

12:00 AM — As Civil Partnership tops the agenda of long running BBC Radio4 soap The Archers, the Institute of Professional Will writers (IPW) is hoping that script writers might be able to educate couples about the impact of such a union more effectively than the registration process has done.The IPW says the majority of same sex couples have no idea how a Civil Partnership affects their inheritance arrangements, although their have been over 15,000 Civil Partnerships since the new legislation allowing Civil Partnerships came into force in December 2005.
