Although there were not many events against homophobia, sports fans have been warned all week that discrimination is wrong and to show others' respect.So I couldn't help but smile as I sat in Arsenal Football Club's plush new Emirates' Stadium last night when the host announced that all fans should respect the travelling supporters for CSKA Moscow "because discrimination is wrong."
Stonewall celebrates gay friendly Britain 2

Anatomy star apologises after gay slur
12:00 AM — In a statement of apology jointly issued to Entertainment Tonight and People Magazine, Grey's Anatomy star Isaiah Washington is clearing his conscience after an on screen fight with co-star Patrick Dempsey in which he allegedly referred to co-star T. R. Knight as a faggot."I sincerely regret my actions and the unfortunate use of words during the recent incident on set," Washington said in the statement.

TV authorities fine channel over lesbian sex scene
12:00 AM — Singapore's main cable operator Star Hub Cable Vision was fined 10,000 Singapore dollars (£3,390) for showing a scene involving lesbian sex and bondage.The Singapore Development Authority deemed the television "sexually suggestive and offensive to good taste and decency".

Gay actor to perform in Doctor Who
12:00 AM — Former Boyzone singer, Stephen Gately, is set to appear in a BBC 7 dramatisation of cult classic series Doctor Who for radio.Alongside more established actors such as Paul McGann and Sheridan Smith, Gately will play the Glam rock hopeful Tommy Tomorrow in the story called Doctor Who: Horror of Glam Rock.The role will involve the pop star turned actor performing his first solo work since 2001, doing a "T-Rex style" number.
