George Michael pleads not guilty
3:41 PM — Pop icon George Michael's lawyer has entered a plea of not guilty to a charge of being unfit to drive at Brent Magistrates Court in north west London.The singer, who recently completed a sell-out European tour, was not in court. A further hearing has been set for 7th March.The charge arises from an incident last October.

11:18 AM — Pop icon George Michael will face charges of being unfit to drive today, following an incident last October when he was found by police in his car in Cricklewood, north London, allegedly passed out.It is not thought that Michael, 43, will appear in person before magistrates in Brent north west London, and his lawyers are expected to enter a plea in his absence.

Speaking on the talk show of fellow supermodel Tyra Banks, the 33-year-old has up until now refused to discuss her sexuality in public.The Canadian model is famous for shaving her head, the first supermodel to do so. She was one of the top models of the 1990s and appeared as herself in the late Robert Altman's movie about the fashion industry, Pret A Porter.

X-Men star’s civil partnership ceremony
3:51 PM — Actor and gay rights activist Alan Cumming 'married' his boyfriend of two years in a ceremony in London yesterday.His new civil partner is American illustrator Grant Shaffer. Guests at the ceremony included folk singer Rufus Wainwright and actress Mary-Elizabeth Mastrantonio.E! Online reports that Cumming wore a black shirt and tie with an oatmeal-coloured linen suit, which Shaffer a black striped suit with a shirt and tie.

1:44 PM — Foul-mouthed footballer-turned-chef Gordon Ramsay has come bottom of a poll of 5,000 gay men and lesbians asked to name a gay icon.The swaggeringly heterosexual Ramsay, a former Scotland international, has a minority appeal to some gay men.Australian singer Kylie Minogue came first in the survey, conducted by market research company OnePoll.com
Panto in aid of gay rights campaigners
11:33 AM — London Frontrunners, the gay and lesbian running club, will present a one-off special performance of its pantomime Cinders and the Panto Pride Run on 21 January 2007 at the Black Cap in Camden, in aid of Stonewall.The show was first seen at Clapham's The Two Brewers in December.The pantomime's writers, Jon Bradfield and Martin Hooper, told PinkNews.co.uk "There are so many fairytales. But there aren't any gay ones yet - the coming out story is the closest we have. So we thought about creating our own."
Prison Break star quashes gay rumours
11:11 AM — The star of hit TV show Prison Break has responded to rumours he is gay.Wentworth Miller has built up a huge following in the gay community after coming to prominence playing the role of Michael Scofield.Miller, who was born in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, is quoted by WENN as stating, "No, I'm not gay. I know these rumours are out there...I'm cool with the fact that they exist, I mean this is about fantasy."

4:55 PM — A recent survey of internet use in the USA has shown that gays, lesbians and bisexuals are online more often than their straight counterparts.The study also revealed that sites like youtube.com, MySpace and Friendster are more popular with LGBT surfers than with heteros.Excluding email, nearly twice as many gays and lesbians (32%) say they are online between 24 and 168 hours per week, compared to 18 percent of heterosexuals.

5:13 PM — Pop icon George Michael has rounded off a triumphant European tour with a performance at a private function in Moscow on Sunday night, and came away £1.5m richer.The singer, who has had a turbulent 2006, saw in the New Year in the company of 300 guests of an un-named Russian billionaire, peforming an hour-long concert at the oligarch's mansion near Moscow.Michael's huge pay packet outstrips the £1m that American diva Christina Aguilera allegedly received for performing at the wedding of another rich Russian in September 2005.
