    1:25 PM — China's first gay pageant has been shut down by police for apparently not following the correct procedures. The event was scheduled to begin today in Beijing, with eight contestants fighting for the chance to represent their country at the Mr Gay World competition later this year.

    3:08 PM — The heiress to the Johnson & Johnson fortune has been found dead at her Los Angeles home. Casey Johnson, 30, had a history of drug abuse. Police said she appeared to have died from natural causes, although a cause of death has not been determined.
