12:23 AM — Following a petition signed by 30,805 people, the Prime Minister Gordon Brown has apologised on behalf of the British Government for the treatment of gay World War Two hero Alan Turing. A man forced by the courts to undergo castration to rid him of his homosexuality.

5:49 PM — A trans woman running for mayor in Nampa in the US state of Idaho says she has been warmly received by voters. Melissa Sue Robinson filed her application last month after announcing her plans to run for the role in June.

New York senate could vote on gay marriage this month
4:33 PM — A gay New York state senator has said that the Senate could vote on gay marriage in the next few weeks. Democrat Tom Duane, who is the state's only openly gay senator, was hopeful it could be dealt with in a special session.

Welsh first minister sends message of support to Cardiff Mardi Gras 1
4:16 PM — Rhodri Morgan, the first minister of Wales, sent a message of support to revellers at this year's Cardiff Mardi Gras. The gay event was held last weekend in glorious sunshine, unlike last year when torrential rain meant it was cancelled.
Conservative gay group launched at Manchester Pride 106
10:57 AM — A Tory-affiliated LGBT group has been officially launched at Manchester Pride. LGBTory had a stall during the bank holiday festivities, while members marched in the parade to showcase the new rainbow Tory logo and the slogan 'Conservative and Proud'.
