2:16 PM — Warren McGaw and Chris Rumble have become the first Australian gay couple to have their civil partnership ceremony legally recognised. Their ceremony was performed yesterday in Canberra in the ACT.

Uganda’s president claims that gays are ‘recruiting’ 24
7:28 PM — The president of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni, has warned that European gays are "recruiting" Ugandan citizens. Speaking at the Young Achievers Awards ceremony on Saturday at the Kampala Serena Hotel, he said: "I hear European homosexuals are recruiting in Africa."
Australian prime minister challenged on gay marriage by party 3
6:44 PM — Kevin Rudd, the prime minister of Australia, has been challenged by his party to pass legislation allowing gay marriage. The Australian Labor Party in the state of Victoria passed a resolution in support of marriage equality last weekend.

Exemptions allowing churches to refuse to employ gays to be scrapped following pressure from EU 60
5:37 PM — The European Commission is putting pressure on the British government to drop the exemptions from equality legislation by religious organisations who currently have the right to refuse to employ LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered) staff.
