4:51 PM — This year's Liverpool Pride festival will be held on Saturday August 6th, it has been revealed. Organisers are still waiting to find out how much funding they will receive from Liverpool city council but say they have heard "positive noises" from councillors.

Budapest Pride banned by police over ‘traffic concerns’ 5
4:10 PM — This year's Budapest Pride festival has been banned by police, ostensibly because it will cause too much traffic disruption. Gay rights campaigners in the Hungarian capital claimed that the decision was politically motivated and are planning to challenge it in court.

4:49 PM — Brighton Pride 2011 will charge entry and limit visitor numbers for the first time. Organisers of the festival said they had to make significant changes after complaints about safety and litter at last year's event.

Former chair says Brighton Pride is failing the gay community 23
11:50 AM — The former chair of Brighton Pride has said that the festival needs a "radical" overhaul. David Harvey, who ran the event between 2003 and 2006, said Brighton Pride was too straight, that LGBT people did not feel safe there and and that trustees could be breaching Charity Commission rules by "running a party disguised as a charity".

Jerusalem Pride bomber sentenced to six months community service 13
1:51 PM — A district court in Jerusalem has sentenced a 35-year-old Michael Naky to six months community service for setting off a makeshift bomb to disrupt a gay pride march in the city in 2007. The judge gave the sentence after a plea bargain between the defence and the prosecution.

Two soldiers held over shooting at Rio de Janeiro Pride
4:30 PM — Two soldiers are being held by the Brazilian army after a teenager was shot at Sunday's Rio de Janeiro Pride. Nineteen-year-old student Douglas Igor Marques Luiz was shot once in the stomach during the gay festival.

Brighton Pride email suggests fire service concerns 4
8:47 PM — Exclusive: East Sussex Fire Service is thought to have concerns that this year's Brighton Pride festival was "poorly managed". An emailed statement from Pride this afternoon announcing the immediate resignation of chair Robert Clothier contained an forwarded email which appeared to have been sent by accident.

5:46 PM — The acting chair of Brighton Pride has resigned with immediate effect. Robert Clothier, who stood in for former chair Yvonne Barker when she resigned last November, announced he was standing down today.
