11:03 AM — Chief executive of leading HIV and sexual health charity Terrence Higgins Trust Nick Partridge has been knighted. THT was set up in 1982, the first charity to be set up in response to the HIV epidemic of the 1980s.
Gay charity boss Ben Summerskill to receive OBE in New Years Honours List 36
12:01 AM — Gay equality group Stonewall's chief executive has been included in 2009's New Years Honours List. Ben Summerskill, chief executive of Stonewall, will receive an OBE for services to Equality and Diversity.

Top players to speak out against homophobia in FA video 7
11:49 AM — The Football Association has agreed to organise and fund a video / DVD featuring premier league players speaking out against homophobia. The idea was put to the FA several months ago by Peter Tatchell of the gay human rights group OutRage!, as way of challenging the anti-gay abuse hurled by fans at players like Ashley Cole and Sol Campbell.

2:39 PM — An ad for Campbell's Soup Company appearing in gay magazine The Advocate has been condemned by the American Family Association (AFA). The double-page ad features two female restaurateurs and a young boy. The text accompanying the picture identifies the women as a couple and the boy as their son.
