60 years of the NHS celebrated at Pride London 1
12:59 PM — A special float bringing together the Gay & Lesbian Association of Doctors and Dentists, the Royal College of Nursing and the Dept of Health LGBT Staff Group will celebrate 60 years of LGBT contribution to the NHS.
Stevie Wonderful wins UK drag king contest
12:33 PM — A London-based disability rights worker has been crowned "King of the Castle" at the first ever National Drag King competition, which was held on Sunday. Stevie Wonderful, a.k.a. Fiona King, was triumphant.
Brighton walk raises funds for Stonewall
12:18 PM — More than 300 people took to the streets of Brighton last weekend in support of gay, lesbian and bisexual rights. The fifth annual Equality Walk raised funds for Stonewall, and this year GaydarRadio hosts Dicky and Dolly and comedian Amy Lamé were on hand.

3:52 PM — A maypole featuring depictions of gay and lesbian life in the German city of Munich has been subjected to a suspected homophobic attack. The community resource was only erected last week.
Memorial to gay Holocaust victims to be unveiled this month 3
3:27 PM — A memorial to the persecuted homosexual victims of Nazism will be officially unveiled in Berlin on May 27th. It takes the form of a gray concrete slab, with a window to allow visitors to view a video.

2:38 PM — A prominent female football player gang-raped and murdered in South Africa last week was the victim of homophobic violence, according to activists. Midfielder Eudy Simelane, 31, was buried earlier this week.

12:44 PM — Three prominent Russian gay rights activists were attacked at a non-violent protest on Saturday. The homophobic assailants were dressed as rappers, according to Interfax. They fled as police approached.

12:07 PM — A man has been held by police in the Cayman Islands for kissing his boyfriend. Aaron Chandler, a 23 year old American on holiday with his partner, was detained by an off duty police officer.
Australian government stands by ban on gay marriage 4
10:36 AM — The Australian government's decision to refuse same-sex marriages has been compared to slavery by gay rights groups. Last week the Australian government announced more than 100 reforms.

Moscow Pride will apply for five marches a day
1:18 PM — Gay rights activists in Russia have lodged court appeals after the Moscow municipal authorities banned a series of marches they are planning. Organisers have previously said that they are going to apply for five marches each day in May.
No Mardi Gras parade in Birmingham this year
1:02 PM — The organisers of Birmingham Pride, which takes place over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend on May 24th and 25th, have confirmed that there will not be a parade this year.

12:46 PM — The Gay Football Supporters Network has said it is "amused" by the comments of Luciano Moggi, former managing director of Juventus, that "a homosexual cannot do the job of a footballer."
US study claims LGB population is less than 3% 1
12:15 PM — A new poll published in the United States on Wednesday claims that there are considerably less gay, lesbian and bisexual Americans than previously estimated. A Hunter College poll of 768 people who took part online found that just 2.9% identified as LGB.

New face-to-face sexual health service launched in London 1
