Jerusalem Pride bomber sentenced to six months community service 13
1:51 PM — A district court in Jerusalem has sentenced a 35-year-old Michael Naky to six months community service for setting off a makeshift bomb to disrupt a gay pride march in the city in 2007. The judge gave the sentence after a plea bargain between the defence and the prosecution.

The couple, Jim and Dillon, have with the help of friends responded to hundreds of the letters but there remains a mystery as to where the children located their address.

Founding president of gay group PFLAG dies 4
11:22 AM — The founding president of US group Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) has died at the age of 90. Adele Starr reacted badly when her son came out in 1974 but overcame her negative feelings to establish the support group for the loved ones of gays and lesbians.

Irish gay Traveller group honoured by president 5
4:57 PM — An Irish support group for gay Travellers has been honoured for its work. President Mary McAleese presented the Traveller Pride Awards in Dublin yesterday and paid tribute to the work of the Gay Traveller Support Group.

Texas trans woman arrested for using female toilet 12
3:22 PM — A trans woman in Houston, Texas, has been arrested after using a female toilet in a library. Tyjanae Moore was arrested by police last Wednesday for "knowingly entering a restroom of the opposite sex" but trans groups say her arrest was unlawful.

Featherstone says government is ‘committed’ to tackling transphobia 11
5:17 PM — Equalities minister Lynne Featherstone has said the government is committed to tackling hate crime against trans people. She was speaking ahead of Saturday's annual Transgender Day of Remembrance.
Two soldiers held over shooting at Rio de Janeiro Pride
4:30 PM — Two soldiers are being held by the Brazilian army after a teenager was shot at Sunday's Rio de Janeiro Pride. Nineteen-year-old student Douglas Igor Marques Luiz was shot once in the stomach during the gay festival.

9:25 AM — The secretary of the Campaign for Homosexual Equality, Griffith Vaughan Williams, has died at the age of 70. Mr Williams, known as Griff, became involved in gay rights work in 1964 and was a leading member of CHE from its earliest days.

4:37 PM — Two London events have raised tens of thousands of pounds for National AIDS Trust and Terrence Higgins Trust. THT's Supper Club raised £95,000, while the Wig Party raised £45,000 for NAT.
Lesbian activist awarded MBE 12
4:34 PM — A lesbian campaigner from Brighton has been awarded an MBE at Buckingham Palace. Clare Dimyon, 45, was honoured for “services to promoting the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in central and eastern Europe”.

2,000 join London vigil against hate crime 13
12:01 PM — Two thousand people braved the wind and rain to join a London vigil to remember victims of hate crime on Saturday evening. The crowd assembled in Trafalgar Square and heard speeches by equality minister Lynne Featherstone and Stuart Milk, the nephew of murdered US gay rights activist Harvey Milk.
