11 March 2008Lesbian sex guide launched in Manchester 1 One of the UK's leading gay charities will be supplying free lube and a safer sex leaflet to women in Manchester.The Lesbian and Gay Foundation (LGF) has also launched Beating About The Bush, a 32-page sex guide and lesbian and bisexual women's safer sex leaflet.LGF is a health-based community charity based in Manchester working to "end homophobia and empower people." -
11 March 2008I am not gay says Welsh Olympian + Former Olympic athlete Colin Jackson has denied he is gay, but said he does not mind what people say about him.Jackson, 41, told The Voice newspaper that persistent rumours about his sexuality are "strange and bizarre."The former hurdler appeared on BBC show Strictly Come Dancing in 2005 and 2006.He has just released a book, Life's New Hurdles. -
11 March 2008New London route for 10K Crusaid walk + Crusaid's Walk for Life has announced a new and improved route for this years event.The sponsored walk, which last year raised £375,000, supports poor and marginalised people affected by HIV and AIDS in the UK and Africa.Europe's largest fundraising walk for HIV kicks off at the Event Village, based at Potters Fields Park, on the 1st June. -
10 March 2008Poles appeal for funds to establish LGBT centre 1 Polish lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans activists are asking for help to establish the first LGBT centre in Poland.Szymon Niemiec, founder of the Polish Equality Parade, needs 75 000 euros in donations in order to establish the facility in Warsaw.Mr Niemiec said: "The Queer Central Station will be a place where everyone is welcome."It is our desire to encourage artists worldwide to contribute to a special gallery with periodical exhibitions." -
10 March 2008American “family” group call for school silence boycott + A Christian group that claims to "promote the biblical ethic of decency" has told parents to take their children out of education for the day if their school plans to observe the International Day Against Homophobia.On Friday, April 25th several thousand schools across the United States will be observing the "Day of Silence" (DOS).The American Family Association claimed that "DOS is a nationwide push to promote the homosexual lifestyle in public schools." -
7 March 2008Trans Indians mark International Women’s Day + A transgender shelter and crisis intervention centre in Kolkata, India is celebrating International Women's Day tomorrow by launching an awareness campaign.The home, "Prothama," operates in association with People Like Us (PLUS) Kolkata and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to reach out to young transgender individuals from socially and economically disadvantaged sections of society.The 'All Equal All Different'campaign hopes to encourage young transgender people. -

7 March 2008Gay health group comments on bareback porn scandal 6 GMFA, a gay men's health charity, has said that if gay men do not want people who perform in pornographic films to risk their health they should not buy so-called 'bareback' porn.The comments follow an investigation by the BBC's Newsnight programme that exposed the activities of an porn production company called Icreme.Several models discovered they were HIV+ after filming bareback scenes for the company. -

6 March 2008Welsh gays and lesbians offered media training + Gay equality organisation Stonewall Cymru will be focusing on empowering bisexual, lesbian and gay people in Wales at their annual conference next month.The one day event will feature workshops on media training and lobbying skills.The conference is called Get Engaged! Influencing Decision Makers and Campaigning for Change and will be held on Saturday 19th April at Gregynog, Powys, starting at noon. -
